Happy Spring!

Okay, well almost happy spring. Yes there may be a winter advisory, but spring is just around the corner, we can feel it! And we have to tell you we are so ready for spring time here at The Manor House. Bring on the green grass, blooming flowers, and budding trees please!

In honor of our vying for spring time, we thought we would share a lovely spring wedding from a while back here at The Manor House to encourage this wonderful sunny season to kick itself into gear (we can hope)!

This wedding was overflowing with gorgeous sun-drenched weather, a darling bride and groom, and jaw-dropping centerpieces and cake! Enjoy and please start doing your spring dances to make this snow go away!

Dreamy Ceremony Decor

Hello Manor House Bride Lovelies! For today’s inspiration tidbit, we wanted to put together some ideas for our 2013 brides for ways to customize the ceremony site here at The Manor House. Over the past 2012 wedding season, we saw bundles of decor glam that turned our ceremony space into a dreamy wedding oasis! So here we go, plenty of wedding ceremony decor ideas found with the Manor House ceremony space in mind!

Raise it up to the Archway

We have always loved it when brides decorate the arch coming onto the ceremony site. It is such an easy way to add your personal touch to the ceremony space. Keep in mind you are also welcome to bring in your own arch to decorate the ceremony space itself, which we must say looks absolutely stunning!

Here are some of our favorite arch decorations from 2012 mixed with a few Pinterest goodies!

Lucky you! You get a little wedding preview along with this beautiful arch decor. This ceremony decoration from Annelise & Barrett’s wedding was so lovely complete with the navy chair sashes and real flower petals down the aisle. See their full wedding published on Smitten: A Cozy Colorado Soire

Oh Brittany and Derek. How we loved these two and their country western chic wedding. We adored how they tied sunflowers into their overall theme with sunflowers on the arch, filling planters, and lining the ceremony space.

Another take on the rustic archway decor is to use burlap and baskets. This wedding has not been featured quite yet, but keep an eye out for it because it is a dreamy one!

As we are sure you can imagine, this particular gem was published all over the wedding blog world. This archway decor was magical. The decorations in this wedding overall transformed The Manor House ceremony space into a perfectly pink spring wonderland. And yes we know, the tent was to die for as well.

Place It Down the Aisle

Adding decorative elements along the aisle can be a wonderful way to incorporate your wedding theme and colors into your ceremony. You can go the traditional route with flowers, possibly spiced up placed in a unique pot or hung from a fancy shepherd hook. Or, you can opt to go down the less traveled road and do something that might seem cooky at first but can turn out splendidly and one of a kind.

Take a look at some of the aisle decorations we have vied for over the past season both from real weddings here at The Manor House and from the wonderful Pinterest world.

Shepherd’s hooks are a great way to add a decorative element to the aisle because they add height and above all make for delicious eye candy for your guests. These adorable little bulbs complete with pastel pink tulips and babysbreath were the perfect touch to fit along with Stephanie & Eric’s elegant wedding here at The Manor House.

Style Me Pretty has us swooning once again. How amazing are these alternative to shepherd hooks?

Combined with the stunning succulents and pastel mix? Obsessed.

When we say to maybe step out on a limb and do the unique ceremony aisle decor, this is what we mean. This combination of shepherd’s hooks, teacups, colorful fabric, and cheerful flowers is a combo we are sure none of of us have seen before. That uniqueness makes it wonderful, delightful, and makes us vying for more!

Add Some Lovely Vintage Touches

Being a Historic mansion, The Manor House pairs very well with vintage decor. That is why we are obsessed with the vintage decor that made its way out onto the ceremony space this past 2012 wedding season!

This whole wedding was hands down charming with all of the bride’s DIY vintage touches, but for us the vintage dresser adorned with potted flowers and antique suitcases took the cake. It was such an adorable way to customize the space and tie the ceremony in with the rest of her vintage decor. The best part about this cute little dresser? It can be rented for your wedding day from A Vintage Affair Rentals, along with many many other vintage goodies to give you that vintage look you might be going for!

We loved everything about these vintage chairs on the ceremony space for Kristin and Josh’s breathtaking wedding this summer. Not only did they add a vintage flair to the ceremony space, but when placed next to the tables in the tent they turned the space into a dreamy vintage fairytale! Isn’t the archway the sweetest too?!

Hang it in the Tree

We really hope it’s not a secret to all of our 2013 Manor House brides that the tree next to the outdoor ceremony space at The Manor House just calls for decoration. It is the perfect place to add a personal pop to the ceremony location and make your theme run flawlessly throughout all of the spaces. Take a look at some of these ideas:

Again we’re giving out a sneak peak to this wonderful rustic wedding feature! We just can’t help it, we’re too excited to publish this one and we think we’ll have to get it up soon! But, our rambling aside, we adored the puff balls that hung in the tree at this morning wedding over their brunch buffet. It was absolutely breathtaking.

The Love of High School Sweethearts

In today’s world, we do not see many high school sweethearts, and I have to say, it’s a shame. There is something so special about knowing one another since you were teenagers. You get to experience all of those wonderful milestones together: sweet sixteens, prom, high school graduation, college, college graduation, etc. There’s such a unique connection that comes with being in a relationship through all of that.

This is why when we heard Bianca & Justin were high school sweethearts, it all made sense. This spectacular couple has an uncanny connection that came from time and a pure love for one another. They were married here at The Manor House on September 2, 2012 and oh my goodness their wedding radiated of love, happy tears, huge smiles, and ended with the marriage of a couple who will be able to look back 20 years from now and say, “hey, remember when we graduated high school, graduated college, and were married?” This couple is one that will continue to share those magical life milestones together for years and years to come.

Why Bianca & Justin Chose The Manor House

We had been looking everywhere for the perfect venue and nothing seemed to fit the bill…my bridesmaid Courtney called me one day and said she had just driven past The Manor House- she said it was beautiful and exactly what I was looking for… she was right! The staff at The Manor House was Amazing- they took care of everything and made our wedding day everything we had hoped for.

Bianca’s Advice to Other Brides

Spend the extra money and have everything delivered – the last thing you want to have to worry about on your special day is for you or your family to have to stress about picking something up… When it came down to the day of I was so glad we did!

A Breathtaking Wedding Snippet: Heather & Mike

Breathtaking. That is how we would choose to describe Heather & Mike’s wedding in one word. Take a look at this wedding snippet of their remarkable portraits and impeccable ceremony & reception details and you will see what we mean!

Heather’s Favorite Moment

The first time I saw Mike at The Manor House took my breath away. We also had this clear, blue sky day with a perfect view of Red Rocks and Downtown Denver during the ceremony. When the sun set we had the most spectacular pink sunset. We also loved the look of the house all lit up at night. It was the most special day ever.

How Heather & Mike Made Their Wedding Unique

Mike and I spent a lot of our dating life in a long distance relationship and we would meet up every couple of months. We wanted to incorporate our travels into our wedding so we named the dinner tables for each of the places we had been together and found a picture of the two of us together at each of the places. We also are both amateur photographers so we incorporated photographs in our escort and place cards, a video that played during cocktail hour, and the ceremony program and invitations.

Heather’s Advice to Brides Planning Their Wedding

Do a little work at a time every month. I got the Knot book which helps with wedding planning. No matter how much you plan, there is bound to be something that doesn’t go as planned. Just roll with the punches and remember the real reason you are having a wedding. You are marrying your best friend so everything else is just icing on the cake.

Set me as a seal upon your heart

Andria & Drew are a delight to be around because they are both so down to earth and genuine. That’s why I was thrilled when their wedding photos landed on my desk from the lovely Two One Photography (by the way, these photos came along with a stack of other images from multiple other real Manor House Weddings so keep an eye out for more weddings from Two One Photography!).

Andria & Drew’s Wedding Day September 21, 2012

The Proposal

This photo of Andria praying with her most special ladies is so touching when you know the strength of Andria & Drew’s faith and how it not only brought them together but was also the center of Drew’s sweet proposal. They met in bible study and down the road Drew proposed by carving a verse into a piece of wood and strung Andria’s ring around it. Presenting his gorgeous piece of work (see photo down below) and the breathtaking ring he picked out, he got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him.

My favorite moment of our wedding day was the first look we did with our photographer. Up until that point, I had been so nervous and stressed all day waiting for the ceremony. When I finally saw Drew I was able to calm down and get really excited about getting married.

Maybe the most adorable ring bearer ever? Look at those bright blue eyes!

Why they chose The Manor House for their venue

It is BEAUTIFUL! I love historic old homes and when we met with Kelley for the first time, she said that the Manor House would be the perfect venue for our mostly out-of-town guests to get a taste of what Denver offers. From the ceremony site you can see downtown Denver, the Red Rocks, and it is situated right in the foothills. Our guests really were able to experience it all!

Andria’s Advice to Couples Planning a Wedding

Remember, your wedding is only one day. Your marriage is for a lifetime. Prepare and plan accordingly.
