Save the Dates

Before I ventured into the world of save the dates, I had no idea there were so many creative ones out there. I thought the majority of save the dates were simply a picture of the happy couple with the announcement of their wedding date. Little did I know, you can get way more fun with your save the dates than that!

Here are a few of my favorites:

I am obsessed with save the dates written on the bottom of the bride & grooms’ shoes… I just love it!

Lottery Ticket Save The Dates

Visualize for a second how much fun this would be. You open up a letter addressed from a friend/family member/ etc. who you know just got engaged, and you are expecting a normal everyday save the date until… you open and find a lottery scratch ticket! I know I would be so excited to discover the date of my friends’ wedding by scratching away on a lottery ticket. What a cute idea, and it is so unbelievably unique!

I found this wonderful idea on MarthaStewartWeddings.com… if you have not explored this wedding haven of a website, go right now. It has great ideas for many other save the dates, invitations, yummy treats, and tons of DIY wedding ideas!

This is right up my alley. These save the date cards inspire every bride to get this cherished, intimate look. I love love love the idea of a postcard, because think about it, when someone sends you a postcard from somewhere you want to go what do you do with it? I know I instantly place it on my mirror, bulletin board… somewhere where I will see it everyday and be inspired by its beauty, and I think many of your guests will do the same thing.

Many other wonderful, unique ideas on lovevsdesign.com… I adore this site! They have wonderful stationary, invitations, programs, etc as well. VERY unique stuff!

Handkerchief Save The Dates

A handkerchief save the date, what a touching idea. Let’s face it, weddings are emotional so to provide your guests with a customized handkerchief for your wedding is a brilliant idea.

I shouldn’t even have to say you have to go to The Knot, I am sure you have already been there about a billion times and eat all of their wonderful ideas up with a spoon just like me!

Handmade ‘Tying the Knot’ Save The Dates

I had to show this save the date because it is one of the most unique and special elements of  a wedding I have ever seen. Your guests open the save the date and essentially help you to “tie the knot.” It’s so ingenious I can’t even get over it. Follow the link for a DIY for these precious save the dates, but also make sure to check out one of my favorite blogs where I found this Lovely idea: Oh Lovely Day.
