Rustically Romantic Ellie & Brian

I will always remember giving Ellie the initial tour of The Manor House. Not only did we spend almost two hours together chatting away but she was also going wedding dress shopping later that afternoon and she was absolutely ecstatic about it. So when I saw her in this incredible & breathtaking dress I was SO happy for her that she had found the most perfect dress! Seriously, how gorgeous does she look in these photos? Not to mention how absolutely dapper Brian looked! Everyone here at The Manor House was thrilled for their wedding day as these two are the sweetest couple that have an incredible love story:

Ellie: “Brian and I met at the Air Force Academy.  He was two years ahead of me and graduated in 2007 when I graduated in 2009.  We started dating the Feb before he graduated, and were long distance from then until about 2 years ago when we both moved to VA.  Brian is originally from North Idaho, and I’m from the Springs, so we both wanted mountains and outdoorsy photos/wedding.  The Manor House was the perfect blend of sweeping landscapes and  a beautiful location for our intimate wedding.  We loved that it was away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet was relatively close to a major airport!”

This “First Touch” was one of Ellie’s favorite moments from the wedding day:  “We wanted to do something together prior to the ceremony, but without seeing each other.  Additionally we wanted a chance to write/say our own vows.  This was such an awesome way to do it, we each stood on the opposite sides of a doorway and read our vows with our bridesmaids/groomsmen standing behind us.  It was a sweet moment that I’m really glad we squeezed in. “

Ellie’s thoughts on planning her wedding day: “I got really into Pinterest and the Knot after we got engaged and loved all of the vinatge and rustic weddings.  One of my bridesmaids termed the theme of my wedding to be “rustically romantic” and it kind of stuck.  I loved burlap and lace, and also mismatched bridesmaids dresses.  I planned for tones rather than colors and tried to stick to blushes and neutrals.  I also love peonies, but they were supposed to be out of season for our wedding.  We ended up getting really lucky and our florist Sue, was able to get some in time for the big day!”

Thank you Ellie for sharing your favorite moments with us, thoughts on planning your wedding day, and your sweet love story of you and Brian. We are thrilled for the two of you and the incredible things we know you are going to do in this world together! Congratulations to an absolutely beautiful couple, inside and out!

  1. I attended a wedding at your lovely establishment on September 26th and was wondering if those wedding pictures will be featured on your website?

    • Hi Janet! Unfortunately, we have not received the photos from Rachel & Frankie’s wedding. If their photographer sent us their photos, we would love to share their special day on the blog!
