It All Started in Kindergarten – Shelby & Bryan
Shelby and Bryan stole our hearts with their simple vintage theme and hints of champagne & cornflower blue. We feel in love with this couple from the first time we meet them! And when we found out they had first meet in Kindergarten, it was just too sweet! Thank heavens for CR & Tiff from Brinton Studios for capturing the sweetest couple on their amazing wedding day! Here’s a little bit of Shelby & Bryan’s story…
Shelby and Bryan were both in Mrs. Michael’s Wonderful Wednesdays kindergarten class at Franklin Elementary School. Shelby remembers them meeting on the playground after lunch while he was playing with his friends by tying her best friend, Sarah, to a tree. They went all through elementary school together and then to different middle schools. They met up again at Arapahoe High School’s back to school dance where Shelby decided to pay attention to one of Bryan’s friends.
Their junior year of high school they were in the same creative writing class but sat on opposite sides of the room. Bryan would walk all the way to the other end to get a lap top just so he could maybe talk to her. Shelby tended to be busy talking to other people though. One day Bryan and Shelby and other friends went to Chipotle for lunch where Shelby subtly hinted to wanting Bryan to ask her to the homecoming dance. He didn’t get the hint.
Bryan and Shelby happened to start seeing much more of each other during their Senior year in high school. Bryan “unofficially” asked Shelby out via Facebook during their final winter break in high school. The only day she was available was on December 23rd for breakfast. Bryan took this as a bad sign. Apparently a dinner date says, “I like you and want to date you,” and a lunch date says, “I like you but only as a friend.” So a breakfast date must be really bad, like a, “I can’t stand you but feel sorry for you,” date. I can assure you it was nothing of the kind. Their first date was a a little breakfast place called Benedicts, where Bryan ate french toast and Shelby had the eggs benedict
Shortly after their fist date they became … Facebook official. Shelby and Bryan dated the rest of their senior year in high school. Both went to Fort Lewis College for their first year in college, and then transferred to University of Colorado Boulder.
We love the touches of lace in Shelby’s flowers!
We asked Shelby what she loved most about her wedding day, “My favorite part of our whole wedding was probably our ceremony. I loved how personal it felt and how beautiful everything was.”
Cupcakes that look too good to eat, yum!
Congratulations Shelby & Bryan!
