A Scottish Touch – Pamela & Alex

We fell in love with Pamela & Alex and their black & white June wedding! They have such a wonderful love for each other that shines brighter than the Colorado sunset! We loved so many things about their wedding day from the adorable ring bearers, the bagpipers all the way from Scotland and the helicopter as a finishing touch! Dawn Sparks Photography was there every step of their wedding day to capture all these amazing moments! Here’s Pamela & Alex’s story…

Alex and I met while we were going to school in Fort Collins. We had known each other a couple of months when he asked me to go on a lunch date with him. After that we were pretty inseparable. Once we started dating we knew pretty quickly that we were going to be together forever. We were very young when we met, Alex was 23 and I was 20, so we took our time dating and being engaged. We got married exactly two years from the date that Alex proposed. The long engagement was wonderful for us because we got to work on our relationship. Plus we were able to have every vendor we wanted! It is hard for me to pick just a few favorite parts of the wedding!
It is my most favorite day of my life!

My bouquet was gorgeous! I found my dream bouquet on Pinterest and showed it to Sue at Kimball Floral. She immediately understood my vision and was able to make me a bouquet that was even more gorgeous than my own vision! All of my flowers were perfect, but my bouquet was absolutely stunning!

One thing that really touched me was that Alex’s uncle Duncan and cousin Iain flew here from Scotland to play bagpipes for our wedding. Duncan is a world famous bagpiper who has piped for the Queen of England and Madonna. For him and Iain to come all this way for us was truly amazing!

Dawn and Noy Sparks were fabulous! They were calm, cool, and sweet! I didn’t have to worry about anything because I was 100% confident they would capture each moment! And they did! There are times when you will feel a bit uncomfortable when posing for a picture (and you will get frustrated), but when you see the end results, you will completely forget about awkwardness. Words cannot describe how much I love my pictures! They are something I will treasure for the rest of my life! No one except our vendors knew we were being picked up in a helicopter, and when it landed the excitement of the crowd was well worth the secret! It was also very exciting to take off in the helicopter, it was the prefect finishing touch! As we lifted off we could hear the bagpipers pipping us off!
