Kristina & Andy are one of those couples that you just fall in love with, so sweet and genuine. You can tell they bring out the best in each other just looking at their beautiful photos captured by MMB Photography. We love many things about their June wedding including the vintage bikes, their vibrant colors and their delicious desserts! Turns out those vintage bikes carried more than just a beautiful addition on their wedding day, it’s how they fell in love. Here’s their story from Kristina…
Andy and I met in the fall of 2007 at a haunted corn maze. But really, our connection was through bicycles. Andy was on a cycling team with a mutual friend who introduced us at a haunted house. We started cycling together and it is one of the many reasons we moved to Colorado from Wisconsin in 2011. Since bicycles brought us together, we used this as a vintage theme to our wedding. We used bicycle stamps on our wedding invitations, small bicycles as decoration throughout the Manor House and Andy refurbished vintage Schwinn bicycles and painted them our wedding colors (fuchsia and tangerine)…which were so popular at the venue that the Manor House acquired them after the wedding. We continued the vintage theme using lanterns and pictures of us as children for centerpieces and chalkboards to welcome our guests.
Our favorite part of the wedding day was having friends and family from around the US/Canada and across the pond together for the first time. Andy is English and it was his family’s first time in Colorado. We incorporated some English bits into the wedding with Andy and his dad’s Union Jack socks, soccer cufflinks for the groom and best man and, of course, an Arsenal soccer groom’s cake. It was so much fun having our friend Ryan officiate the ceremony, Andy’s mom Michele deliver a creative and witty poem she crafted and people literally crying with laughter from the best man Mort’s speech.
