Together From A Distance

The chances of meeting your soul mate nearly 1,800 miles away from your hometown seems like a plot that only a Hollywood producer could script. However, for a young man named Rex, this is precisely how he met his beautiful bride in January of 2011.

On a weekend trip from Colorado to New York City, Rex was visiting his friend from college. Rex’s college friend happened dating a girl who was the friend of a young lady named Kristin. This is where Rex first laid eyes on Kristin!

Brought together by a pair of friends, Rex and Kristin’s connection was instant. Within a month of their first encounter, Kristin was flying to see Rex and experience the first of many beautiful trips to Colorado.  The pair quickly recognized the importance their time together as a result of dating long distance for an entire year. Their time together was extremely special and exciting, but while spending weeks apart, each was able to focus on communication and genuinely getting to know one another.

Because of the distance set between the pair, Rex and Kristin made traveling a priority in their life together. But, their love for travel wasn’t the only thing that sparked the couple’s interest in one another. Both have a passion for music, and while Rex made a career in DJing events, Kristin’s concentration in graphic/packaging design was very much inspired by her time spent reveling in the music inside New York City nightclubs. Her  talent in graphic/packaging design, as Kristin puts it, “has shown Rex how to always make life look beautiful, because it is!”  This may have very well been the inspiration behind the beauty that she envisioned for their wedding day.

The black and white striped runners sat beautifully atop the classic white linens, while the bold floral accents created a flashy pop of color. The raspberry pink napkins united the classic black and white theme with the beautiful accent pieces, which made for a striking visual.

Aside from the aesthetic appeal of their day, one of the many highlights that the couple attributes to making their day picture-perfect was being able to host family and friends who traveled all the way from the East Coast! Their attendance meant more to Kristin and Rex than they can express. For many of their guests, this wedding marked their first time getting to visit our breathtaking state, and having the Manor House as a backdrop was a dream come true for the couple! Kristen admits—she may have never had the desire to visit Colorado until she learned that it was the hometown of the love of her life!

As you can see, the photos by Lauren Brimhall are proof enough that everything will always fall into place! From the distinguished floral design by The Perfect Petal and the elegant hair and makeup by Love Your Face Beauty, all the way to the cake/cupcakes by Mulberries Cake Shop, Kristin and Rex’s wedding day was one for the books!

Congratulations you two!
